Take the Museum’s audio tour to learn more about the exhibits!

The new system, produced in collaboration with Tour Mate Systems Limited, Inc. of Toronto, Canada, is comprised of a listening wand that will play a short introduction to a diverse selection of objects and specimens from across the Museum’s exhibitions.

The new technology features Tour Mate’s fifth-generation listening wand that designed to be easy to use by all age groups; its features make it easily accessible for individuals with disabilities and compatible with most hearing aids.

Audio tours will be self-guided so visitors may tour the Museum in any direction, order or speed. Small identification tags on display cases will prompt visitors to enter that number on the listening wand keypad and the narration will begin.

Users will enjoy a richer experience visiting the Museum as the narrator introduces artifacts and specimens from the exhibits, and offers detailed descriptions that elaborate on the object labels on display.

Use of the listening wand is FREE. Thirty-five listening wands are available for use by groups or individuals. For groups of 10 or more, listening wands may be reserved in advance by calling the Tour Program Manager at 301/319-3312 or emailing NOTE: NEW ADDRESS medicalmuseum@gmail.com
