Description
Files from AFIP's Registry of Noteworthy Research in Pathology, a collection of research materials and publications. Includes administrative records; books, reprints, and pamphlets; manuscripts, notes, photographs; microscope and lantern slides; paraffin blocks; charts and case histories; newspaper clippings, and biographical information. Records are arranged alphabetically by name. Artifacts are in Historical and Anatomical Collections. Cataloged in NUCMC.
The first folder under the pathologists’ names lists the materials that were received by the Registry, and, if one was assigned, shows the accession numbers assigned to each item. Where the item’s description was present in the records, it is listed below by its accession number and description as transcribed from the original folders, followed by any needed clarification. If an item was not in the records it was not included in the finding aid, regardless if it had been assigned an accession number; however, if an empty folder existed for a pathologist or an item, it is listed but noted as empty. Most accession numbers were shown to have been deaccessioned in 1973 and that is indicated in the pathologist’s list of items.
Unless noted otherwise, correspondence usually refers to communications about the Registry.
