Paws for Purple Hearts visits the Medical Museum




Carolyn Ford, an instructor for the Paws for Purple Hearts program, demonstrates with Niles, a service dog in training, how service dogs are taught to open and close doors for wounded warriors. Niles, who will eventually be matched with a wounded warrior, is also being taught to turn on lights, zip up clothing and more with assistance from service members suffering from post traumatic stress symptoms. The demonstration was held during a lunchtime program at the National Museum of Health and Medicine September 21, 2010.
